Sharon Draper writing
Sharon Draper’s book Out Of My Mind really stands out to me. Here are some of the things that stand out.One of the things I like most about Out Of My Mind is she makes feel like you’re a part of the story. ” The wimp and the whoosh of the furnace coming alive each morning. The tangy odor of heated dust as the house warmed up.” These sentences make me feel all warm inside. Another thing I like is she makes you feel like you’re a part of the story. “When I was little I remember sitting in our kitchen, being fed breakfast by my mom, and a song came on the radio that made me screech with joy.” This sentence makes me so happy inside. She also uses very descriptive language that creates imagery. ” I had no way to explain how I could smell freshly sliced lemons and see citrus toned in my mind as it played.” This sentence just makes taste sweet and sour lemons. Those are some of the things that stand out to me in Sharon Draper’s book Out Of My Mind.
